August 25, 2010 - Note from Coach Greg

 

Dear Parents & Players,

It is almost time to begin our school year. I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and time with family. With the school year upon us we have a few orders of business to take care before we begin.

1) Our mandatory Parent meeting will take place Tuesday September 14th @7pm in the Forum Room. The room is located on the Fairmont side of the school in between the Lunch tables and the District Office. For those returning families, it is where we held it last year. Please do not be late so we can get everyone out promptly.

2) We will be collecting the remaining balances for Spirit Pack fees ($275, for those that have already submitted their $200 Deposit) Totaling our $475 per player Booster Fee. All players need to be paid in full, or in payment arrangement with our Boosters by Friday September 17th. Please note that we have many expenses that must be taken care well before the start of Season.

3) Those that are not current with $200 Deposit, needs to be paid ASAP. This fee covers practice uniforms which are required at the beginning of the second week of school. I am ordering on Friday of this week to ensure we have spirit gear for everyone by the first week of school. Note that 6th period is a required class and any students not in uniform will lose points for not dressing out, just as they would if they did not have their PE uniforms. The rules of 6th period sports are no different than any other PE class. I will attach another order form with this email. All checks need to be made payable to YLHS Women’s Soccer Boosters and Mailed to the address on the sheets.

4) Finally, we are in search of some volunteers to help with our board for next year. Below is a list of our positions if anyone is interest in any position please email me to let me know and we can begin the nomination process. We are looking to have 2010-11 board in place by our parent meeting.

• Secretary

• Auditor (Must have Accounting Background and/or Experience)

• Team Rep & Event Chair

• Community Service Chair

• Fundraising Chair

• Fundraising Committee (3 or more, Non-voting positions)

An updated Game Schedule has been posted. Click the link above to download it. Please note the Game Schedule is tentative and subject to change. Also there will be additional Frosh/Soph Games added.

The Coaches information for 2010-2011 has also been updated.

July 20, 2010  *** IMPORTANT ***

Click this link to view a copy of the upcoming budget for the year. The first Booster installment is in the amount of $200. This is a non-refundable deposit as this covers all gear, equipment, and other expenses that must be covered by the start of school. All payments are to mailed to & checks made payable to YLHS Women's Soccer Boosters. Please see the form for further details. Due date: August 15th.

Secondly, the order sheet for our Spirit pack gear is now available and must be returned with the Booster fees by August 15th.Without your daughters sizes Greg will not be able to order her gear. She will either not have it in time for school or will have to take whatever sizes we have left. No Spirit pack gear will be distributed to player who has not covered the initial $200 fee.

Lastly, there is a 2010-11 sponsorship form at the "Sponsors" link above. Now is the time to get a sponsor to help cover cost of dues or help our program.

Summer 2010 Schedule

  • June 21-24 Summer Camp: All Players; Returning, New & Freshmen
  • June 28-July 1 Summer Camp: Freshmen & New Players
  • June 28-30: University of Southern California Soccer Camp @YLHS (Flyer to come out this week) Not mandatory, Just a wonderful opportunity. Head Coach Ali and staff will conduct the camp on our campus. Separate Fees will apply.
  • July 12-Aug 12 Strength & Conditioning Workouts: Tues – Thurs 11am-1pm (Mandatory for all returning players; this is included in your initial camp fees).
  • Welcome Meeting & Booster Board Re-Elections will take place over summer break this year.

Message from Coach Greg:

Please note that Wednesday's game versus JSerra has been changed to 3pm @JSerra. Bus leaves at 1:00pm. JV Girls are to be dismissed at 12:40pm, and not to participate in assembly activities.

When  you eat at Rubio's on Yorba Linda Blvd at Village Center, present them with this flyer. Rubio's will donate 20% of your bill to YLHS Women's Soccer.

The fundraiser will take place 1/26 thru 1/28, 2pm to closing time.

Message from Coach Greg regarding the schedules for Friday January 16, 2010

 

The Friday January 16th games have been changed due to YLHS Winter Formal.

 

JV: Game at 2:00pm @YLHS. Greg will be expecting that all JV players stay for the first half of the second game to ensure fairness to everyone in our program.

F/S Blue: Game at 3:30pm @YLHS

F/S Red: Holding a short practice and will be expect to at least stay and support their teams for the first game and some of the second.
